Steven Hauck – Board President<\/a><\/h3>\n

\n Steven Hauck has been an active member of Unity of New York since its inception in 1999, and currently serves as a Prayer Chaplain and as a member of Voices In Unity choir. Steve is a professional theater practitioner, who co-wrote and directed the play TOMORROW WE LOVE in NYC. His has acted in numerous Broadway, off-Broadway and regional productions. Television roles include Dawes on \u201cThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel\u201d and Judge Bad on \u201cUnbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.\u201d He has also appeared in the Spike Lee Joints \u201cOldboy,\u201d \u201cDa Sweet Blood of Jesus,\u201d and \u201cShe\u2019s Gotta Have It.\u201d Steve is honored to lead Unity of New York\u2019s Board of Trustees as President, and to serve the community that sustains and inspires him on a daily basis. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n

Chris Bennett – Vice President<\/a><\/h3>\n

Sandra Winter – Secretary<\/a><\/h3>\n

\n Rev. Sandra Winter has been an Interfaith minister for more than 20 years. She has ministered at spiritual communities on Long Island and Manhattan as a pulpit minister and used her training as a death doula and sound healer to assist those making their transition, as well as their families. She was given a grant to create “The Soul Song Project,” for which she created original songs for nine residents at the Isabella Nursing Home and performed them for the community. She has also coordinated volunteer efforts and handled communications for Quaker Meeting and the Big Heart Circle, a Native American community. She currently is a co-facilitator of a weekly prayer call with Encouraging Word Ministries. She is the author of the book “Pivotal Moments” and continues to write and develop her songwriting projects. As a longtime student and practitioner of New Thought principals, she is honored to have the opportunity to serve on the board at Unity of New York. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n

Doug Cordero – Treasurer<\/a><\/h3>\n

\n Doug is honored to serve this community as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, a role he has held since 2023. Doug joined Unity of NY in 2008 after attending an Easter service that filled him with joy, uplifting music, and a spiritual connection he had missed for years. In 2019, Doug was invited to join the Board as a Member-at-Large and he continued to serve on the Finance Committee in ’21 and ’22. In his professional life, Doug works as a vice-president of solutions, founding sales engineer, and as an advisor to high-tech software startups. He deeply enjoys learning new technology, navigating sales engagements, and solving the challenges of going to market with innovative solutions involving data intelligence, security and resilience. Doug lives in the Sleepy Hollow District in Plainfield, NJ with his beloved wife Kerry and teenage son Miguel. <\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n

John Canary – Member at Large<\/a><\/h3>\n

\n In 1986, I went with a friend, at his suggestion, to hear Eric Butterworth at Lincoln Center. Thus began my relationship with Unity.
\r\n
\r\nI came to New York in January of 1974. I was an actor and worked in the theater and television beginning in my early 20s. As I got older I did a lot of industrials, both on tape and live. For live industrials, I did a lot of voice-over and spokesman work.
\r\n
\r\nIn the 80s, 90s and 00s I worked as a teacher of English as a Second Language and as a corporate trainer, primarily in law firms and at the United Nations.
\r\n
\r\nAnd then there is Unity. At my spiritual home I\u2019ve sung and still sing in the choir. I\u2019ve served as a prayer chaplain. For a couple of years, I co-hosted the Wednesday morning coffee klatch with Rev. Britt Hall. For 9 years, I\u2019ve served as one of the facilitators in the Quest on Sunday mornings. I\u2019ve platformed at services.
\r\n
\r\nAnd then there is the Board of Trustees: I served on the Board of Trustees for 7 years. 2 Of those years, I served as President of the Board. I was out a year (as required by the bylaws) and then re-elected. This is my 8th year on the Board.
\r\n
\r\nFrom Eric Butterworth: \u201cThe whole of God is present at every point in space at the same time. Take time to meditate on this great idea. In other words, God doesn\u2019t come and go. God doesn\u2019t capriciously move substance from God\u2019s supply \u201cup there\u201d to fill your needs \u201cdown here.\u201d Nor does God answer prayer in some kind of coming forth. God is always present, totally present \u2013 as a Presence.\u201d
