This week’s Speaker, Gha\u2019il Rhodes Benjamin<\/strong> Is an Audelco award winning actor , Grammy nominated poet\/spoken word recording artist, master teaching artist , self- empowerment speaker and the facilitator of varying workshops that empower uplift and encourage participants to speak their own voices forward. She is also the facilitator of ITAV ( It takes a village woman\u2019s ministry) here at Unity of New York . Along with UNY\u2019s Outreach ministry ITAV has supported families and organizations that serve the homeless and individuals with special needs in our community. Gha\u2019 il has taken her power of the spoken word ministry to correctional facilities , the NFL, theatres , corporations, schools, shelters and universities around the USA and abroad .. including performances at Jazz at Lincoln Center , BAM, Carnegie Hall and The Apollo Theatre . Most recently Gha\u2019il collaborated with students and faculty at the University of Cape Coast in Cape Coast Ghana . While visiting Ghana she was also blessed to perform on Stage at the National Theater of Ghana in Accra. Author and Motivational speaker Les Brown declares that Gha\u2019il Is \u201cauthentic, mesmerizing and a breath of fresh air\u201d<\/p>\n
